Insigna By S.J Kincaid

I thought this looked like an interesting book. I mean image if there was a world war 3, and if it was to be defeated by a computer genious? I have never heard of a book like this, once it comes out it is on my list of books to read. Watch the video, I think you all might just think its amazing too.

Stereotypes

I know I have not posted a lot; that this site it fairly new. But I have been sick for sometime and I am continuing to write again.

Today I am going to talk about stereotypes. We all know about them. We even say them each and everyday. Here is the meaning of a stereotype
 From Wikipedia:
"A Stereotype is a belief that can be held by anybody about specific types of individuals or certain ways of doing things, but that belief may or may not accurately reflect reality. However, this is only a fundamental psychological definition of a ‘stereotype’. Within different Psychology disciplines, let alone across those disciplines, there are different concepts and theories of stereotyping that provide their own expanded definition of a ‘stereotype’. There may be common aspects between the different definitions, but each definition also has unique aspects that may complement or contradict the other definitions."

From Dictionary
"1. a process, now often replaced by more advanced methods, for making metal printing plates by taking a mold of composed type or the like in paper-mâché or other material and then taking from this mold a cast in type metal.
2. a plate made by this process.
3. a set form; convention.
4. Sociology . a simplified and standardized conception or image invested with special meaning and held in common by members of a group: The cowboy and Indian are American stereotypes.

Typical stereotypes are police officers buying coffee and donuts. Another is that people who drop out of high school are idiots.Others are vegans hate people who hate meat and force you to become a vegan, blond girls are dumb, unemployed people are lazy etc. Theses and many other stereotypes are not true in the slightest. I should know. Let me go more in depth in unraveling these stereotypes. Sure cops buy coffee and eat donuts, but so do other people. When we think of cops in the way we think of obese cops, coffee running down their chin and donut crumbs on their belly's. Most people in America go out and buy coffee so why can't cops?

People who drop out of high school aren't idiots, they may have their reasons for dropping out. Like: Pregnant, bulling, feel like they don't belong and health issues. Their only other option is getting a GED, It is the exact same as high school diploma. I am in fact one of the many getting a GED. I had to drop out of high school because of my complicated health issues. I don't seem like and idiot do I? No, and I am in a class with many, many highly intelligent people getting their GED's. Let me get this strait: Just because you drop out of school does not make you a loser or a dumb nobody You are something and someone and don't you forget that!
People who do not eat meat like vegans or Vegetarians do not hate others who eat meat or want to convert them. Sure maybe some do, but I only speak for the ones I know. I myself am also a vegan. I respect and honor your choice and will try in no such way try to change your mind. Girls who are blond are not always dumb, some just play the part. The color of your hair does not define you. And last but not least unemployed people are just lazy. Sure again some might be. But others are trying to find jobs or can't have them for various reasons. My mom was unemployed for years. She was not lazy, she was just over whelmed. With me sick, a teenage son and a autistic daughter she could not have a job. She was always running, and wore herself out. I also know other people without jobs, they are struggling to find a job in this economy. But as you may know it is failing and hard to find a job.
My conclusion is don't be quick to judge. Stereotypes are just stereotypes. They do not define you or me. Why not go and meet someone new and get to know them for themselves? Not what you see on the outside or what their "stereotype" says.
Peace and Love
